Suntex Marina Investors coordinated a companywide Folds of Honor Day at its Dallas headquarters late last month to raise funds and awareness for the charitable organization.

Folds of Honor is a nonprofit that provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of fallen or wounded military service members. The scholarships support private school tuition or tutoring in grades K-12, plus tuition for post-secondary education, including technical and trade schools. Folds of Honor has awarded more than 35,000 scholarships totaling more than $160 million since its 2007 founding.

“We are always so grateful to our guests and staff for their constant support of our efforts to help Folds of Honor,” Suntex CEO Bryan Redmond said in a statement. “We are humbled by the work that this amazing organization and its team does on regular basis.”

Suntex started supporting Folds of Honor in 2012, and each of its marina locations asks patrons to contribute. Many marinas also hold independent events, such as cookouts and raffles. In 2018, at the grand opening of the recently acquired Miami Beach Marina, a silent auction held on behalf of Folds of Honor with Lt. Col Dan Rooney, the founder of Folds of Honor in attendance.
