Suntex Marina Investors yesterday announced its merger with Windward Marina Group through a joint venture with Centerbridge Partners. The transaction adds 13 marinas and more than 3,000 slips to the Suntex portfolio, bringing its network of facilities to more than 100 nationwide, including 34 in Florida.
“Windward has assembled an exceptional portfolio of marinas across Florida’s most compelling boating destinations,” Suntex co-founder and CEO Bryan Redmond said in a statement. “Together, we are creating a highly connected coastal network with Suntex marinas positioned near major inlets from Miami to Amelia Island.”
The newly added marinas are located along the Panhandle, Atlantic coast and Gulf coast, including Amelia Island, Jacksonville Beach, St. Augustine, Port Orange, Micco, Fort Pierce, Port Charlotte, Englewood, Panacea and Pensacola.
Stefan Johansson founded Windward in partnership with Robert Finvarb, founder and CEO of Robert Finvarb Companies, which builds hotels and mixed-use properties.
