Temo, the French manufacturer of electric outboards for sailboats and dinghies, this week announced the creation of Temo USA for the company’s expansion into the North American market.

“The establishment of the company in the United States is a key step in the development of our activities,” company president Alexandre Seux said in a statement. “It should allow us to strengthen our presence on the ground and quickly gain market share in this territory, which we know has great potential. The electrification of boating is a booming subject in North America.”

The company said more than 5,000 units have been sold worldwide since 2019. The opening of Temo USA in Portland, Maine, will make it easier to supply the dealer network and respond to growing demand.
