The marine industry consistently honors products and people. The industry, however, has not recognized forward-thinking companies that are moving the industry in new directions.
Soundings Trade Only’s mission is to reflect, inform and inspire. We define innovation as extending beyond product development, Innovation is all of the decisions that move a company toward something new. We look to companies that are transforming our industry through the use of new manufacturing processes, marketing approaches, technologies, products, purposes, directions, workforce and other initiatives. We want to recognize companies shaping the future of the marine marketplace. In the autumn of 2021, we will recognize these organizations, from large global companies to small startups, with the honor of being a Most Innovative Marine Company.
Each application will be individually evaluated by a team of Soundings Trade Only and AIM Marine Group editors, writers and publishers and chosen industry experts. The winners will be announced in an editorial article in our November issue and on our website, TradeOnlyToday.com. We invite you to enter for the opportunity to become one of the Most Innovative Marine Companies 2021.
This year, we will be focusing on key categories of innovation:
Altruism/Social Awareness
Community-minded responsibility that builds trust and inspires positive social change through products, platforms and services. While larger corporations’ efforts can produce results that go well beyond their communities, companies of any size can utilize business practices that concurrently are proper for bottom lines and build a sense of trust with consumers. The ability to pivot production to meet societal needs.
Development & Technology
New materials, interfaces, concepts and designs that push the marine space in new directions. Utilizing data, user feedback and connectivity for a superior UX. Displaying ambitious goals for new products, with long-term applications and developments.
Work Culture
Core values and integrity define companies that promote a healthy lifestyle and work/life balance through inventive work practices, encouraging a multifaceted approach to collaboration and teamwork, myriad opportunities for growth, and open, transparent communication and recognition, resulting in a healthy, positive work environment. Any tool, practice or setting with a goal to improve worker happiness and production.
Manufacturing Process/Supply Chains
New or improved processes that impact every aspect — research, design, development, production, supply-chain efficiencies — of a product. Using advanced technologies and data to virtually design, test and improve products before they are put into production. Introducing new, smart safety equipment to protect workers and streamline production.
Start-ups
Showing innovation and ambition out of the gate, filling a market niche or greatly improving on what was already available to the mass market. Established companies that have entered the marine space with new products or services.
Sustainability
Projects that use inventive design to meaningfully reduce harm to the environment. Developing products with consideration to end-of-life cycles, a thoughtful utilization of materials for packaging, shipping, industrial design and components.
Other
The most innovative company with no category restrictions.
ELIGIBILITY
Organizations across the globe that manufacture or supply products and services to the marine industry may apply. Each company must demonstrate how their innovations over the past year have impacted their business, the industry and marketplace. Innovations implemented from August 15, 2020 thru August 15th, 2021 are eligible. Entrants must provide Company name, contact name, address, phone and a valid email address.
TIMING
Applications may be received from 12:01am on June 1st – 12:59:59 on August 15th, 2021. Each applicant will receive an acknowledgement that the application has been received.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Winners will be announced at Soundings Trade Only’s Leadership Summit on September 27th in Tampa, Fl during IBEX week, the November 2021 issue and on the web at TradeOnlyToday.com. In the event, that IBEX does not occur, the winners will be announced via livestream broadcast. There will be one top company that will honored as the Most Innovative company of the year.
The list of Most Innovative Marine Companies 2021 with company information will remain on the website until September 2022. In addition, each winner will receive a Most Innovative Marine Company logo to use on corporate materials until the 2022 winners are announced.

By submitting this entry form, the entrant and company represented confirm that the information provided is original, admissible, and truthful.
If an external person is entering on behalf of a company, by submitting this form they acknowledge that they have the permission and support of the entrant company. In the occurrence that an entrant without such permission submits an entry form, the entrant will not be eligible for the competition.

Submission of any entry provides permission for its use for exhibition, promotion, and publication purposes in any medium. Submissions received after the deadline timeframe will not be accepted. Submission time frame is as follows: 12:01AM June 1, 2021 thru 12:59:59 August 18, 2021. There is an entry fee for the Most Innovative Marine Companies Awards. When you submit your entry form you will be prompted to pay the fee.
If an entrant is deemed a winner of an award, the manner of publicizing the nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of Soundings Trade Only.
Soundings Trade Only and the AIM Marine Group reserve the right to choose the members of the judging panel.
Soundings Trade Only’s Most Innovative Marine Companies competition is subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is not available to companies residing in places where such competitions are prohibited.
