Off the Hook Yacht Sales announced that it acquired Sloop Point Marina in Hampstead, N.C., and Georgetown Yacht Basin in Georgetown, Md. The company said it will make improvements to both properties and have them open for business this spring.
Sloop Point Marina has drystack storage for boats from 20 to 30 feet, an on-site ship’s store, mobile fueling, two lifts and other amenities.
“We are very excited about the possibility of expanding into [the] Hampstead market,” Off the Hook owner Jason Ruegg said in a statement. “Hampstead is growing rapidly, and it’s comforting to know there are no other properties nearby that could support another drystack facility.”
Georgetown Yacht Haven has 300 slips, two paint sheds for boats to 110 feet, a fuel dock, swimming pool, bathhouses and a ship’s store, along with other amenities. GYH also has the largest lift in northern Chesapeake Bay.
“We are aiming to have most of the significant work performed by the spring so that we can attract back all of the past loyal customers,” Ruegg said in a separate statement. “Our aim is to have them return to a beautiful facility with many upgraded amenities.”
Off the Hook Yacht Sales is based in Wilmington, N.C., and has 12 U.S. locations.
