Norwegian electric engine manufacturer Evoy last week granted dealer rights to The Green Wave, a retailer based in Goes, the Netherlands. The company will have a territory that includes Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Northern France.

“We are growing fast as a company and have received interest from several hundred dealerships and sales agents that would like to work with us from around the world,” Marte Rostrup Hofset, Evoy’s CCO, said in a statement. “But we want to ensure we get the right dealers in place, which takes time.”

The contract between Evoy and The Green Wave was signed in November at Metstrade and the dealership will handle sales, service, installation and parts for the engine maker’s inboard and outboard electric motors.

“The perfect dealer needs to be strategically well located, preferably within a marina environment they own, and with a charging infrastructure already in place, or soon to be installed,” Rostrup Hofset said in the statement.

The Green Wave says its business model is centered on the electric and hybrid sail and powerboat markets. The company offers a range of electric propulsion power alternatives and will carry Evoy’s 120-hp, 200-hp and 300-hp outboards and the company’s 400-hp inboard.

“The synergy between the two companies could not be better,” Eric Caroen from The Green Wave said in the statement. “Evoy is one of the first brands that can deliver a finished product in series production, which is incredibly important in a market where boatbuilders and shipyards must be able to count on a stable supplier that can keep its promises and stick to pre-agreed delivery dates.”
