The National Marine Distributors Association’s S.T.E.P. Conference kicked off yesterday at the organization’s annual meeting.

Show organizers told Trade Only Today that attendance — component manufacturers, distributors and sales representatives — increased 30 percent this year to prepandemic levels.

“We have over 75 percent of our member companies in attendance at S.T.E.P. this week,” NMDA executive director Nancy Cueroni told TOT. “There is enthusiasm to gather in person, and our members see a clear value in the in-person meetings, networking [and everything else] that S.T.E.P. offers the marine aftermarket community.”

More than 750 strategic planning meetings between suppliers and distributors will take place during the conference, which includes networking opportunities and an awards luncheon recognizing manufacturers in a variety of categories.
