
The American Boat & Yacht Council announced the hiring of four new team members.
“We are fortunate to both attract and retain talented individuals as part of our staff at ABYC,” president John Adey said in a statement. “This is an exciting time of growth and development with new people who have already hit the ground running.”
Tim Murphy, who has been involved with ABYC since 1988, was named education project manager. Murphy supported the rollout of ABYC’s marine electrical certification, designed and edited ABYC certification study guides and co-authored Fundamentals of Marine Service Technology, a textbook for secondary and post-secondary education. In his new role, Murphy will oversee the creation of the ABYC curriculum and certification materials.
Sarah Kramer is member services manager and comes to ABYC after eight years as the membership and database manager for the Restaurant Association of Maryland. She will support ABYC’s efforts to grow and maintain membership.
Adrienne Hurst was named marketing coordinator. She will support ABYC’s outreach efforts and content development.
Doreen Barrett is ABYC’s bookkeeper. Barrett spent 15 years at Integrated Medical Professionals and will assist financial transactions for ABYC and its foundation.
