TowBoatUS last week recognized its Long Beach, Calif., operation with Tower of the Year honors during its annual conference in New Orleans. Owned by Capts. Mike Del Grande and Ken Walker, the Long Beach operation was chosen from more then 130 independently owned TowBoatUS outfits across the United States.
“TowBoatUS Long Beach goes above and beyond to help mentor others who can benefit from their experience and operations,” towing services vice president John Condon said in a statement. “If someone has a question, captains Del Grande and Walker are always willing to help.”
The Tower of the Year award recognizes professionalism in providing 24/7 towing and assistance services, including a near-perfect 24-hour towing dispatch operation, high customer satisfaction ratings and on-water towing case management. Also considered is the captains’ willingness to assist new TowBoatUS companies in mastering routine on-water assistance.
