The Massachusetts Marine Trades Association hosted its annual Business of Boating Conference last month in Foxboro, Mass. Approximately 160 people attended the professional-development conference in-person, and more than 30 joined remotely.

“The BOB conference provides an opportunity for our members to collectively come together to discuss concerns within the industry, with a goal of coming up with solutions and ideas,” MMTA executive director Randall Lyons said in a statement. “It was great to see the significant increase in in-person attendees this year, with a solid number of first-time attendees.”

Breakout sessions covered such topics as workforce development, supply-chain and inventory planning, advocacy, employment law, marketing, government relations, legislative issues and technological changes.

State representative Joan Meschino received the 2022 MMTA Legislator of the Year. Additionally, a video recalled an August 2022 Mattapoisett boatyard fire and the plans to rebuild the facility.
