The Association of Marina Industries Conference & Expo yesterday got underway at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., with three pre-conference educational events and a marina and boatyard tour. The annual event officially kicks off today.
In a statement, AMI said the educational sessions included a leadership workshop, a seminar about running a successful marina, and the return of the Docks and Marinas Course, which is conducted in partnership with the University of Wisconsin.
The pre-conference sessions were followed by the annual Marina & Boatyard Study Tour that is designed to dovetail with the Marina 101 course. Participants visited New Smyrna Marina and Daytona Marina & Boatworks, plus a visit to the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.
The conference runs through Wednesday afternoon.
