Capt. Larry Tieman, owner and operator of seven on-the-water recreational boat-towing locations on Florida’s central Gulf Coast, opened an eighth location with TowBoatU.S. Yankeetown, Fla.
The Yankeetown Marina location joins Tieman’s TowBoatU.S. locations in St. Petersburg, Tampa Bay, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Hudson, Homosassa River and Crystal River.
Coast Guard-licensed Capt. Matt Fleming is the new location’s full-time captain. Fleming had been a captain at TowBoatU.S. Crystal River and he has an extensive background in recreational boating. He is a former small-boat captain with the Coast Guard and he came to Yankeetown when he was assigned to the local rescue station.
Fleming spent 25 years with the Florida Marine Patrol, a forerunner to today’s Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and is a local fishing guide.
TowBoatU.S. has more than 600 towboats and it services hundreds of ports and waterways throughout the country.
