Miller’s Launch has opened a new TowBoatUS port on Staten Island, expanding its services for recreational boaters in the New York Harbor region. TowBoatUS Staten Island is the third location in the city’s five boroughs and provides boaters on-water assistance, including towing, jump-starts, fuel delivery and other services.
“Having a dedicated location in this area ensures boaters can get fast, reliable help right where they need it,” Capt. Harold “Smitty” Smith, port manager for TowBoatUS Staten Island and Sandy Hook, N.J., said in a statement.
Positioned in Stapleton on the northeastern waterfront, the new port brings TowBoatUS’s nationwide network to more than 300 locations. Two red TowBoatUS vessels, 26 and 33 feet long, are stationed at the site and staffed by U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains.
TowBoatUS Staten Island also provides salvage and spill response, while Unlimited Towing Memberships start at $175 annually and include access to BoatUS benefits such as BoatUS Magazine and VHF radio registration.
