TowBoatUS added towing services on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, Texas, and Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla.
On Lake Ray Hubbard, Scott Self and Erik Oistad saw a need for an towing services to help boaters when problems arise.
“I’m on the water every day, and I see people break down all the time,” Self said in a statement. “Towing boats can be extremely dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing, so TowBoatUS Lake Ray Hubbard adds a level of professionalism in getting boaters safely back to their docks.”
Self and Oistad have Coast Guard Master licenses, and two full-time captains will assist them. TowBoatUS Lake Ray Hubbard operates a 22-foot Glacier Bay catamaran and a 16-foot Boston Whaler, both of which are home-ported at Chandler’s Landing Marina.

Michael Ammons returns to assisting boaters on Lake Okeechobee. Ammons was the owner of three TowBoatUS locations, which he sold 10 years ago. He opened the new location in Florida earlier this year.
“TowBoatUS has always been a cut above the rest, and the boats are easily recognized on the water,” Ammons said in the statement. “When I came back to Lake Okeechobee after working a few years abroad, I knew there wasn’t anyone out here with the company, so I applied and got back into the business.”
TowBoatUS Lake Okeechobee runs a 22-foot Lund Alaskan and a 22-foot Angler center console. Both are home-ported at Roland Martin Marina.
