TowBoatUS this week announced that former Pacific charter skipper Capt. Stephen Clark is the new owner of the Guntersville Lake, Ala., operation. The company serves a 75-mile stretch of water between Guntersville and Nickajack dams.

“I am happy to be helping boaters — and out of the rat race,” Capt. Clark said in a statement.

Capt. Clark purchased the operation from captains Shane and Stacey O’Neill, who Clarke previously worked for as a hired skipper.

Clarke spent much of his career as a commercial and charter captain, chasing fish between Southern California and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He put approximately 880,000 miles under his keel in 40 years, according to TowBoatUS.

The Guntersville Lake operation’s 23-foot response boat is stationed at Goose Pond Marina in Scottsboro, Ala., but can also deploy from the other side of the causeway via a boat ramp.
