Capt. Jack Hardy is the new owner of TowBoatUS Mentor on Lake Erie in Mentor, Ohio.

Hardy is a lifelong boater and will provide towing and assistance service for recreational boaters on the Buckeye State’s Great Lake.

“I’ve never lived more than a mile from the lake and I’ve been boating and fishing since I was a kid,” he said in a statement.

Hardy started working for TowBoatUS Mentor four years ago. When Capt. Lenny Andreasik, the previous owner, decided to step down, Hardy, who was his primary towboat captain for the past two years, took over.

Andreasik now works part time for Hardy, who holds a Coast Guard Master License.

TowBoatUS Mentor covers Lake Erie from just east of Cleveland to the Pennsylvania border, and offers service on the Canadian side of the lake as well.

Hardy has two boats, a 30-foot Sea Craft with a 400-hp inboard and a 26-foot Shamrock with a 300-hp inboard. They are docked at Mentor Lagoons Marina.
