Volvo Penta North America announced a visit by U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Rep. Bobby Scott, D-Va., last week for a firsthand look at the company’s presence in Virginia, investments in workforce development, and innovative marine and industrial power solutions.
Kaine and Scott met with Volvo Penta leadership and employees during the Aug. 20 visit, which included an executive roundtable, facility tour and employee meet-and-greet.
“We’re lucky to have Volvo Penta’s North American headquarters in Chesapeake,” Kaine said in a press release. “I appreciated the chance to visit with the hardworking Virginians who keep this company at the cutting-edge, including when it comes to marine power technology, and to see up-close how it continues to deepen its roots in our Commonwealth.”

Volvo Penta North America employs approximately 150 employees in support of operations across the continent.
