A charter party fishing off Cape Cod, Mass., got what the captain called the thrill of a lifetime when a great white shark attacked a striped bass one of the anglers had hooked.
Video taken on board shows the shark’s dorsal fin emerging from the water as the fisherman reels in the bass. By the time the catch, is to the boat — with the shark in pursuit — only part of the striper remains.
“We had a visitor on yesterday’s trip,” the company said on its Facebook page. “A 12-foot great white shark grabbed a striper — well, most of it — off the line.”

There were 16 great whites spotted off Cape Cod in one week this summer.
Earlier this month, a great white shark approached a fishing charter in Cape Cod Bay, leaping out of the water and attacking a striper being reeled in, according to the Boston Globe.
Triton Sportfishing posted a video to its Facebook page of a great white attacking a striped bass, according to NECN.
