It almost hurts to watch as the Danish cargo ship Skansanes runs hard aground into the rocky coast in Storfjord, Norway.

The calamity happened midday last Friday, according to the Norwegian press.

The 207-foot hopper was carrying sand. The vessel apparently suffered minimal damage and proceeded on to the port of Valldal, where police boarded it to interrogate the captain.

Police suspect that the captain fell asleep at the wheel and do not believe that he was under the influence of alcohol, according to the report, which was translated to English and posted on VesselTracker.com.
