Viridistor LLC used last month’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference to launch its Green Box system, which is designed to decrease trade show costs for exhibitors by reducing or eliminating the need to print brochures.
The system allows attendees to gather as much information as they want in electronic form and use Viridistor’s USB-based software applications to better manage and share it.
Hundreds of Viridistor USB memory devices were distributed at the IBEX 2010 in Louisville, Ky., as part of the paperless system’s formal introduction to the trade show community.
California-based Viridistor says exhibitors and visitors praised the technology.
“Customers visiting our booth used to receive a binder containing seven different brochures for different product lines; now all they have to do is plug a memory stick into the Green Box and leave our booth with all of that information and more,” says Mike Oathout, vice president of sales and marketing at Taylor Made Systems.
It also was convenient for the company to set up its content, says Jeff Smith, marketing manager at Taylor Made.
“Assembling content was amazingly easy; simple links to PDF files are really all that is needed to get information to your customer,” Smith says.
