Swedish electric-boat builder X Shore announced this week that it received its largest order to date. X Shore will deliver 32 boats to M Yachts showrooms in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Completion of the delivery is expected by the end of next year.

“This deal with M Yachts to deliver 32 boats reflects our shared vision of making boating one with nature through sustainable performance, seamless technology and modular, minimalistic design,” X Shore CEO René Hansen said in a statement. “It’s a key part of our long-term commercial strategy, and we’re excited for the future growth that will come with the partnership with M Yachts.”

The German boating market is projected to reach an electrification rate of around 12% by 2027, driven in part by internal combustion engine bans on several lakes, according to research commissioned by X Shore. The Swiss and Austrian markets are also facing internal combustion engine bans on lakes, which is driving demand for sustainable alternatives.
