Travel Lift Operator – Oyster Harbors Marine- Osterville

Position Overview

The Travel Lift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of marina lifting equipment to haul, launch, and block vessels. This role is critical to daily yard operations and works closely with the yard manager, service department, and dock staff to ensure vessels are handled properly and yard workflows remain organized and safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate travel lifts, forklifts, and related heavy equipment to haul, launch, and transport vessels of varying sizes
  • Properly position slings, blocks, and stands to support vessels safely during lifting and storage
  • Conduct pre-lift inspections of vessels, slings, straps, and lifting equipment
  • Communicate clearly with spotters, yard staff, and dockhands during all lifting operations
  • Move vessels within the yard according to work orders and storage plans
  • Assist with blocking, unblocking, pressure washing, and vessel staging
  • Maintain awareness of weight limits, tide conditions, wind, and weather during operations
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report mechanical or safety concerns
  • Keep yard areas organized, clean, and free of hazards
  • Support seasonal haul-out and launch operations
  • Follow established yard procedures and marina best practices

Coordination & Teamwork

  • Work closely with the Yard Manager to prioritize vessel movements
  • Coordinate with service technicians and subcontractors for access and timing
  • Assist other yard and marina staff as needed during busy periods

Requirements

  • Prior experience operating travel lifts, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in a marina or industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of vessel handling, weight distribution, and sling placement
  • Ability to read and follow lift plans, yard layouts, and work orders
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with spotters and yard personnel
  • High level of situational awareness and commitment to safe operations
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Physically capable of climbing on and around vessels and equipment as required
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required

Marine Yard Operations Technician

Oyster Harbors Marine is seeking a dependable, hardworking Yard Worker to support daily yard operations and uphold the high standards of presentation and service our clients expect. This role is critical to delivering a seamless, premium boating experience by ensuring vessels, equipment, and the facility are maintained in a safe, organized, and client-ready condition at all times.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, thrives in a team environment, and is eager to grow within the marine industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with hauling, launching, blocking, and moving vessels
  • Support marina operations including dock assistance and boat staging
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard, docks, and buildings
  • Prepare boats for delivery, display, and service (washing, staging)
  • Operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist service and sales teams with moving and preparing inventory
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks and support service technicians as needed

The Closing Agent is responsible for managing and coordinating all administrative aspects of boat sales transactions from contract through funding and delivery. This role serves as the central point of coordination between sales, accounting, service, customers, lenders, manufacturers, and registration agencies to ensure a seamless and professional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Management

  • Manage new, used, and brokerage transactions from signed contract through closing.
  • Review sales documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate deposits, payment schedules, funding requirements, and final settlements.
  • Track transaction status and maintain accurate records within company systems.
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed prior to delivery.

Customer Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact during the closing process.
  • Communicate regularly with customers regarding documentation requirements, funding status, registration, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide a high-touch, white-glove customer experience throughout the transaction.

Registration & Documentation

  • Process vessel registrations and titles in applicable states.
  • Coordinate USCG documentation and transfers when required.
  • Prepare and submit lender documentation packages.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements.

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Accounting, and Delivery teams to coordinate customer deliveries.
  • Communicate delivery dates and dealer-added equipment requirements to service teams.
  • Monitor transaction progress and proactively identify potential delays.
  • Participate in regular sales and operations meetings as needed.

Financial Administration

  • Coordinate customer payments and lender funding.
  • Verify payoff information for trade-ins and brokerage transactions.
  • Prepare closing packages and settlement statements.
  • Assist Accounting with transaction reconciliation and record retention.

Process Management

  • Maintain and update the company’s F&I and closing logs.
  • Track vessel status through the sales and delivery process.
  • Support continuous improvement of transaction workflows and systems.
  • Help ensure consistency across all Oyster Harbors Marine locations.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in marine, automotive, RV, powersports, finance, title processing, banking, legal administration, or transaction coordination preferred.
