Azimut Benetti held a 2016 YachtMaster conference in Italy in February and more than 160 skippers, surveyors and other industry professionals attended workshops on various topics.

The event took place in Tuscany at the Tombolo Talasso Resort at Marina di Castagneto. The first of three conferences was held in Hong Kong in November, and the third will take place in the United States in April.

The Italian event was the largest of the three, which comprise the “Azimut|Benetti YachtMaster — Superyachting On A Global Scale” project, which has the objective of keeping the Benetti community in continuous communication for the entire year.

The opening presentation was made by Alessandro Gallifuoco, Benetti’s quality and after sales manager, and it underlined Benetti’s important commercial returns during the past year.

To the existing fleet of 192 yachts the company is adding 44 that are under construction. Those include 14 Class Line, 30 Custom and four gigayachts larger than 295 feet, the company said.

The four workshop themes were insurance; taxes; new environmental protection standards; and new challenges in crew management.
