Azimut Yachts held an invitation-only preview during the weekend of its new S7 yacht, which will make its “official presentation” at the Sept. 12-17 Cannes Yachting Festival.
The S7 is available as an express hardtop or a sport flybridge. She measures 70 feet, 1 inch and has a beam of 17 feet, 5 inches.
The boat is built with carbon fiber, which the builder said lets designers create more interior space and saves weight. The superstructure, radar arch and pivoting platform are constructed with carbon fiber lamination.
The main deck features a lounge in the cockpit with a horseshoe-shaped couch in the salon just aft of the galley to port. The helm is to starboard and forward, and there is a large bow seating area. Below decks, the owner’s stateroom is a full-beam layout. There is space for six more passengers in the bow VIP cabin and in port and starboard quarters.
Power for the S7 is triple Volvo Penta IPS pod propulsion, with the engine manufacturer’s joystick steering and automatic trim systems.
Azimut also uses an auto balance system that moves fuel among the boat’s tanks to keep it leveled when it is underway.
