Boston Whaler is positioning its new 240 Vantage, the followup to the 280 Vantage, as the “Swiss Army knife of boating” because if its versatility on the water.
“When you’re out with your friends and family, you can do anything with this boat,” said Boston Whaler president Nick Stickler in a Facebook Live video, in which members of the boat’s development team were on hand to demonstrate key features and functionality.
The dual console is designed for a wide range of activities including fishing, cruising, watersports, and entertaining, the company said.
“The 240 Vantage is incredibly versatile and customizable,” said Stickler in a statement. “We call it the ‘Swiss Army knife of boating.’ Just like our new 280 Vantage, the 240 is ideal for boaters who want to take advantage of everything the water has to offer.”
The seating is geared for conversation and mingling — across from the captain, port-side lounge seating can be converted to face forward, aft, or laid flat.
A fiberglass prep center is optional, and the boat is available with both a windlass and a bow boarding ladder to help passengers climb down to and back up from the beach; standard features include an enclosed head and sink.
An insulated in-floor fish box is also standard, and an optional livewell on the transom can be added for more serious anglers. Stainless steel rod holders are located throughout the boat, and the enclosed rod storage is located in the console is accessible through the bow.
The proprietary foam-injected hull is engineered for stability and a smooth ride while underway, and the boat is powered with a V8 Mercury Verado engine and is equipped with “available Raymarine electronics,” the company said.
A watersports tower with wakeboard racks is also optional.
