Brunswick Corp. announced that it agreed to acquire a “portfolio of marine assets” in the Southeast, creating what it calls a “super territory” for its Freedom Boat Club brand.
Brunswick said in a statement this morning that it is acquiring from J&R Marine Holdings the Freedom Boat Club of Lake Hartwell franchise territory in South Carolina with two locations; four marinas; and Eclipse Marine Group, a dealer with four locations in the Southeast.
Brunswick also announced that it will acquire the Freedom Boat Club of Lake Lanier franchise operation and territory in Georgia.
“This acquisition marks a transformational step in our strategy to win with boaters over their lifetime — to enable frictionless transitions between ownership and shared-participation models, elevate the boating experience and retain boaters on the water longer,” Brunswick president of business acceleration Brenna Preisser said. “It will also serve as an on-water innovation center for our electrification strategy.”
