Brunswick Corp. has partnered with Apex.AI, which develops embedded software and middleware. The collaboration is intended to integrate the company’s Apex.Grace and Apex.Ida products with Brunswick’s ACES (autonomy, connectivity, electrification, shared access) strategy. The software is intended to support integration of systems in vessels equipped with autonomous technology.

The software bundle Apex.OS includes Apex.Grace, a software development kit for mobility, smart machines and IoT, as well as Apex.Ida, which was developed for high-performance data transport.

“Providing industry-leading solutions is key to delivering a frictionless consumer experience,” Brandon Ferriman, Brunswick autonomy and ADAS programs director, said in a statement.

“Our software solutions can easily be applied to the current and future sensor suites of Brunswick’s award-winning boats and the marine industry,” Apex.AI CEO Jan Becker added. “It’s very gratifying to be helping Brunswick elevate and simplify boating for its customers with docking autonomy technology.”
