Brunswick Corp. has announced expansion plans at its Reynosa, Mexico, manufacturing facility, which builds its Bayliner, Heyday, Trophy, Lund and Sea Ray models.

“Demand for our products continues to exceed supply, and we have an immediate need to increase capacity to meet the needs of our global customers,” said Brunswick Boat Group president Aine Denari in a statement. “This is an exciting step for Brunswick and our Venture Group as we work to meet this strong demand as well as replenish historically low field inventory levels.”

When the 185,000 square foot addition is completed in late 2023, the builder said it expects to increase production capability by 60 percent, with a total of 385,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
“In addition to providing immediate growth for Brunswick Boat Group, we are creating a large number of high-quality jobs [more than 600] in the Reynosa community over the next few years,” said Reynosa plant manager José Guzmán.

Like its previous announcements earlier this year — including the reopening of its Palm Coast facility for Boston Whaler and the Vila Nova expansion in Portugal — Brunswick plans on utilizing the additions to increase vertical integration as well as to meet the demand from dealers and its expanding Freedom Boat Club.
The company also announced a recent acquisition near its New York Mills, Minn. plant; that facility looks to be fully online early next year.
