Bryant Boats announced that it will lake-test every production boat prior to shipping.
“Nothing shakes out potential quality issues like a thorough, well-documented lake test,” Bryant director of quality Greg Quador said in a statement
“Lake testing is very rare in the sterndrive segment due to the expense and time involved,” Bryant CEO John Dorton said in a statement. “We believe it’s well worth the time and cost so that our dealers and end consumers get a boat that’s problem-free from the minute it rolls off the transporter. In addition, dealer margins are tight enough these days without having to fix issues that should be caught at the manufacturer.”
Each Bryant is tested for fit and finish, performance, trailering and trailer loading in a 40-point checklist. Testers range from quality personnel to the CEO and take about two hours to complete.
