Harman International said Cobalt Boats selected its new marine audio system for installation on all new boats.
The companies agreed to a multiyear contract to fit all Cobalt models that have the Platinum Series audio package with the Harman Kardon Marine system, Harman said in a statement yesterday.
The new R33 sterndrive will be the first model with the Harman Kardon system. Equipment includes 1¼-inch titanium dome tweeters, 6½-inch two-way and 8-inch three-way speakers, and 10- and 12-inch subwoofers, all meeting IPX6 waterproof ratings. The system is powered by IPX4-rated 4,000-watt RMS amplifiers.
Harman International in March launched Harman Kardon Marine, a new group within its OEM special markets business.
