FORT LAUDERDALE — Beneteau and Monte Carlo Yachts are introducing the MC5 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Beneteau marketing director Maryline O’Shea, in a wide-ranging discussion with AIM Marine Group editors, said Beneteau and Monte Carlo also expect to introduce four other new models during the coming year: a Barracuda 7 and an MCY 86 at the Miami boat show in February, a Monte Carlo 4 and a Gran Turismo 35.
O’Shea said the company’s philosophy is to keep spending on research and development and introducing new models even when times are tough. “Never waste a crisis,” she said. “We want to take advantage of the downturn.”
