FLIR Systems Inc. has launched Raymarine YachtSense, an advanced digital control system that allows yacht owners integrated control and awareness of the vessel’s electrical systems.

The technology is scalable and customizable, offering owners user-friendly control of onboard systems via any Raymarine Axiom multifunction display.

The modular architecture is designed to give boatbuilders freedom to design and standardize digital control systems that are scalable across their whole model range.

Each YachtSense system is anchored via the YachtSense Master Module and Power Supply Module — a combination of additional, multi-channel signal modules is added to complete the system. The individual modules interface with specific types of onboard devices and systems, from lighting, pumps, windlass, swim platforms and entertainment systems to climate control, generators, and other mechanical systems on board.

In addition to the Master and Power Modules, the system expands with Low Power Modules, High Power Modules, Reverse Modules, Signal Modules, and Remote Modules. Modules connect to specific types of devices, with up to four channels on each.

FLIR says this customizability makes YachtSense the most flexible and expansive digital switching system on the market.

The Axiom user interface options give manufacturers and installers flexibility for automation, and offer captains complete control of every onboard system via the touchscreen from any Axiom MFD.

“YachtSense is the new standard in premium digital control solution for today’s most sophisticated vessels,” said Raymarine general manager Gregoire Outters in a statement. “Our smart, modular and expandable system gives total freedom to boat builders to design ultra-reliable and highly tailored solutions that best meet the individual needs of their specific vessels and customers.”

Three layers of redundancy are incorporated to give captains peace of mind. An integrated keypad allows for manual override, and a dedicated LCD for system diagnostics.

YachtSense is being unveiled and demonstrated during this week’s Metstrade Connect online event.
