
Groupe Beneteau reported fourth-quarter revenues of approximately $510 million, a 56.6% increase over the same period of 2021. The company closed out fiscal year 2022 with revenues of $1.62 billion.
For the full year, the marine segment posted revenues of $1.39 billion, a 19.7% increase compared with the previous year. In the fourth quarter, revenues were approximately $438 million, a 56.3% increase over 2021’s $280 million.
Groupe Beneteau said in a statement that the boat division’s growth benefitted from measures rolled out at the start of 2022 to increase production capacity, particularly for the multihull sailing and dayboating segments.
The powerboat business now represents nearly 58% of the boat division’s revenues, reflecting the continued development of distribution in the United States for the Beneteau and Jeanneau brands and the growth of Wellcraft, Four Winns and Scarab.
The North American and Central American regions reported 27% growth at constant exchange rates and now make up one third of revenues. European sales increased 9.5% for 2022, with the second half of the year’s 31% growth making it possible to offset delays from supply-chain disruptions.
The sailboat business was supported by an upturn in sales to charter businesses with 31.8% growth for the year. Groupe Beneteau said the Excess brand now ranks fifth on the market, following the launch of the Excess 14.
