Hanse Yachts this week released its fiscal 2021-22 annual report, which encompasses the time period from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.
In addition to Hanse sailboats, the German company is the parent of Dehler and Moody sailboats, and Fjord, Sealine and Ryck powerboats.
Revenues for the period increased 23% to €132.4 million ($140.4 million). According to the report, 73% of this revenue, or €62.2 million ($66 million), was attributable to the sale of 561 sailboats. Motoryacht sales were sluggish, increasing 3% during the fiscal year.
Gross profit increased 18.3% to €60.5 million ($64.1 million), and gross profit margin decreased from 46% to 41.8% from the prior fiscal year. The company attributed the decline in margin to orders booked before material prices increased in February 2022.
EBITDA was impacted significantly by a 58% increase in operating expenses and worsened by €8.1 million ($8.6 million) to a loss of €6.2 million ($6.6 million). According to the report, cash flow decreased by €9.5 million ($10.1 million) from the prior fiscal year.
The company is forecasting a year of considerable risk but is expecting increased revenues for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Based on the forecast, the board is not predicting any restrictions of economic and private activities.
