Malibu Boats yesterday posted record sales results for its 2023 second quarter.

The company — parent of Malibu, Axis, Cobalt, Pursuit, Cobia, Pathfinder, Maverick and Hewes — reported a 28.4% increase in net sales to $338.7 million and gross profit of $75.7 million for the quarter. According to a statement, the results were driven largely by demand for premium models despite supply-chain and inflationary headwinds.

Volume for the quarter was 2,439 units, compared with 2,073 in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin declined to 22.3% from 24.1% in the 2022 second quarter, a drop of 180 basis points.

The company’s full-year outlook calls for mid- to high single-digit net sales growth and a slight decline in adjusted EBITDA margin.
