The Nautique Cares team went to Puerto Rico last month to rebuild a home after it was destroyed in recent hurricanes. Nineteen Nautique employees and Orlando-based athletes worked with a local mission group and the city government on the project. They rebuilt the home of an elderly couple.

With the foundation and floor in place, the Nautique team built walls, the roof as well as front and rear porches with accessible ramps. They installed windows and doors and ran the electrical wiring. In addition, the team spent its own money to purchase a new stove, television, linens and couch.

“I’m extremely proud of the work that our Nautique Cares team has done on the island of Puerto Rico,” Greg Meloon, Nautique president, said in a statement. “It’s yet another testament to the great character of Nautique Team members, contributing their own time to assist a family in need of a home and to make a difference in the community of Puerto Rico.”

After helping the family move into its new home, the team handed the keys to the couple. Click here to watch a video of the house being built.
