Patrick Industries, the Elkhart, Ind.-based supplier and manufacturer of marine and RV accessories and components, announced it has hired Michael O’Connell as director of operational excellence to oversee its expanding marine component business interests.
O’Connell brings more than 35 years of marine industry experience to the role. He began with Bayliner as a design engineer and product manager, which progressed into leadership positions with Brunswick, Genmar, Highwater Marine and Yamaha. Most recently, he led operations at Seattle-based Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats.
“I am eager to assist and add value to the Patrick marine portfolio companies in their ongoing efforts to be the best suppliers in recreational boat business,” O’Connell said in a statement. “My background leading OEM boat companies should provide a unique perspective as our business units strive to continually improve delivery, quality and dependability to their OEM and aftermarket customers.”
Added Patrick marine group senior vice president Rick Reyenger: “We are excited to add Mike to the team with a focus on operational excellence. His depth of knowledge of how our OEM customers operate their businesses, as well as his successful experience with growing and developing people, teams, relationships and businesses within the recreational marine space, will be just what we need to assure that our Patrick marine businesses lead the way as preferred suppliers to our customers.”
