RMI Holdings, the parent company of Regal Boats, this morning announced that it will acquire a 38-acre, 170,000-square-foot facility in Merritt Island, Fla., once occupied by MasterCraft’s Aviara Yachts brand.

Aviara is now owned by MarineMax.

“The acquisition of the Merritt Island facility represents a pivotal opportunity for long-term growth,” RMI Holdings CEO Duane Kuck said in a statement. “Alongside the expansion of our Orlando facility, these initiatives demonstrate our unwavering commitment to building a world-class team, producing industry-leading boats, and empowering the success of our dealer network, all while exceeding customer expectations.”

According to the statement, the acquisition positions RMI Holdings for significant long-term growth and operational expansion.

“We are pleased to announce the sale of our Aviara manufacturing property and facilities to RMI Holdings Inc., the parent company of Regal Boats,” MasterCraft CEO Brad Nelson said in a separate statement. “We deeply appreciate the opportunity to transact with a great local boating partner, which we anticipate will continue the rich heritage of boatbuilding in the Merritt Island community.”
