Scout Boats is investing $10 million to expand its Summerville, S.C., headquarters in preparation for production of its new 670 LX series.

“We meet with the craftsmen and women in each of our four plants every month for award ceremonies, and I often remind them that we ship our boats all over the world to some very affluent customers,” CEO Steve Potts said in a statement.

Scout plans to erect a 35,000-square-foot building to fabricate components for its yacht division and support a new manufacturing line for the 670 LX series. Renovations are expected to be completed next spring, and the builder expects the facility to be fully operational by next summer.
