The Viking Yacht Company has released a teaser announcing the debut of a new short film, set to premier Oct. 27, in celebration of the company’s 55th anniversary.
The Viking Difference takes viewers inside the plants in New Gretna and Mullica, N.J., where team members explain the company’s history.

The film, the result of a collaboration between Viking and Dark Fall Productions, also showcases the company’s technology, facilities and machinery, said Viking communications director Chris Landry.
“We tried to have the people of Viking drive the story — have them describe ‘The Viking Difference,’” Landry told Trade Only Today. “‘The Viking Difference’ is a set of company qualities that has allowed us to be successful for all these years. Being a family-owned-and-operated business, our state-of-the-art facilities, investment in technology, our in-house design and manufacturing and vertical integration as a company are some of these qualities.”
The video format allowed the highlight to showcase the “tremendous boatbuilding know-how and experience that exists under one roof here at Viking,” said Landry.
“As president and CEO Pat Healey says, we’re constantly re-designing, re-engineering and re-inventing,” said Landry. “And this is an opportunity to showcase this effort.”
Allowing workers to guide the story will help give viewers insight into the work ethic established by cofounding brothers Bill and Bob Healey a half a century ago, stated a release from Viking.
The Viking Difference will premiere exclusively on YouTube on October 27 at 7 p.m. EST and be shown for the first time publicly at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Oct. 30-Nov.3.
