Viking Yacht Co. and Valhalla Boatworks reported strong interest and sales at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, with a combined 16 boats sold.

“Considering it was an election year with an uncertain economy on people’s minds, it was a good show,” president and CEO Pat Healey said in a statement.

The Viking 74 and Viking 82 made world premieres, and the New Jersey builder introduced the Valhalla 28 Bay boat and 29 Hybrid center consoles. Valhalla also held a press conference about the 55 Sport Yacht, which is set to debut this spring.

Sister company Princess Yachts America reported strong sales activity, with more than $40 million in sales.

Viking also debuted a 12-minute documentary, The Viking Legacy, about the history of the company and its founding families.

“This is a special year for Viking as we mark our 60th anniversary, and there was no better way to keep the celebration going than by showcasing how we’ve been building a better boat every day,” said Healey, the son of Bill Healey, who co-founded the company with his brother Bob Healey Sr. in 1964.
