SailTime Group said it awarded a new territory in Door County, Wis. The company said in a statement that the base will be operated by Bill Wons at Wave Point Marina in Sturgeon Bay.
“Bill is exactly what we look for in a franchisee. He’s passionate about sailing and excited to share his passion with the people in his community,” SailTime CEO Todd Hess said in the statement.
Wons was introduced to sailing about 10 years ago on a trip to the Caribbean. Having been a private investigator for the first three decades of his professional life, he decided the time was right for a new chapter on the water.
“Door County is an amazing place to sail. It’s a good community of sailors who are really going to enjoy the SailTime model,” Wons said in the statement.
SailTime has what it calls a “fractional membership” program, where members schedule blocks of time online for a new-model sail- or powerboat without ownership. The company has 30 franchise locations in North America.
