Hercules Electric Mobility yesterday announced it is partnering with Coach Marine Group to supply electric propulsion systems for the company’s Coach- and Xcursion-branded pontoon boats.
The companies have entered the final design and integration phase in which they will pair the Hercules e-Drive system to the boats, according to a statement. The pontoons will have a top-end of 40-plus mph and approximately 12 hours of cruising time between charges, the Coach Marine added.
“This is a collaborative effort from design to sales,” Coach CEO Chris Riddle said in the statement. “We’re looking forward to the retail boat show season and other display opportunities this year, showcasing the power, performance and quiet luxury that comes with a Hercules e-Drive mated to a Coach pontoon.”
CMG intends to produce up to 1,500 electric pontoons a year. Initial deliveries are to begin later this year.
