IMTRA this week announced that long-time salesman Ed Dickson has retired after 37 years. Hernan Garcia will take over Dickson’s sales territory.

Dickson, who was based out of northeast Florida during his tenure, officially retired Dec. 31. He spent his career with IMTRA representing the company and supporting its business partners “with commitment, enthusiasm and a unique dry sense of humor,” according to IMTRA.

“We are so proud to have worked alongside Ed for all these years, and we’re all going to miss him in his retirement,” president and CEO Eric Braitmayer said in a statement. “He’s been instrumental in forging some of our most longstanding relationships with loyal customers and was always tuned in to what is going on in the marketplace.”

Garcia is based in Knoxville, Tenn., He has a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and engineering from the University of Michigan and more than 25 years of industry experience, including various engineering and sales roles at Sea Ray. Most recently, he was director of engineering at NauticStar Boats and helped decking manufacturer GatorStep develop OEM sales. He will be responsible for IMTRA accounts from Tennessee to northeast Florida.

“I’m delighted that Hernan has chosen to bring his experience and skills to the IMTRA team,” vice president of recreational sales Chip Farnham said in the statement. “This is a vital region for our sales team to cover, and with his extensive knowledge of our industry and his considerable talents, I have complete confidence that he’ll not only be a great fit with our customers, but a valuable asset to the company well into the future.”
