Delray Beach, Fla.-based LED lighting manufacturer Lumitec partnered with Garmin to integrate Lumitec’s Poco digital lighting control system into the Garmin OneHelm platform.
The Poco system module utilizes the Garmin ethernet connection to provide control of all on-board Lumitec PLI-enabled lighting through a multifunction display or connected smart device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Lumitec and the OneHelm development team worked together to integrate the system and make it compatible with all Garmin GPSMAP 8400 and 8600 series MFDs.
“The OneHelm platform has made the complete glass cockpit a reality, as Garmin has created a channel for third-party manufacturers like Lumitec to seamlessly integrate our products into their systems, which inevitably results in an enhanced user experience,” Chris Fulmer, Lumitec engineering vice president, said in a statement.
The Poco control module will be available for retail distribution in early 2020 for $299.
