The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is in its 29th year and is one of the premier performance-boating events in the country. The shootout takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with boats running one at a time down a three-quarter-mile course. The goal is to run as fast as possible and win your class.

There are Top Gun trophies for the fastest overall boat, as well as the fastest V-bottom and catamaran. As the event has grown it has turned into a weeklong festival that includes radio-controlled boat racing, a stereo shootout and a poker run.
