Navico announced it has hired Kim Rodriguez as its new public-relations manager for the Americas, bringing the communications position in-house for the first time.
Rodriguez will be based at Navico’s recently opened office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Navico is the parent company to the Lowrance, Simrad Yachting, B&G and C-Map brands.
“We’re pleased to have Kim as our lead PR Manager working on communications initiatives and media relations across all brands in the Americas region,” Gordon Sprouse, marketing director, Americas at Navico said in a statement. “I’m confident she will do a great job supporting the fishing, sailing, boating and general marine media that we have worked so closely with over the years.”
Rodriguez joins Navico following seven years at Pierson Grant, a South Florida-based communications agency — where most recently she was account director, leading national consumer accounts in the hospitality, eyecare and technology fields. She has worked on national publicity campaigns with consumer and trade media.
Rodriguez, a weekend boater in Florida, has had experience at the South Florida boat shows working for Pierson Grant.
