Gyroscopic stabilizer manufacturer Seakeeper announced that it purchased a 249,500-square-foot production facility in Leesport, Penn.
The property is 15 miles from the company’s current factory and will house Seakeeper’s core manufacturing and engineering operations. The purchase closed Nov. 5; the company will retain its workforce of more than 150.

“The purchase of this building is good news,” president and CEO Andrew Semprevivo said in a statement. “It’s good for our growing team, and it’s one of many indicators of the success of our product and the health of the marine industry.”

At the close of 2021, Seakeeper said that production will be up more than 80 percent, year over year. The company increased staff by 77 percent, with 80 of those employees based in Pennsylvania. More than 40 additional positions will be added next year, the company said.
