Yanmar Holdings yesterday announced interim consolidated financial results for the first half of financial year 2022. Net sales were ¥483.8 billion ($3.5 billion), a 15.5% increase over the year-ago half. Ordinary income was ¥37.7 billion ($270.7 million), a 53.4% increase from the 2021 first half.

In a statement, Yanmar said “record high sales” were supported by growth of overseas sales of construction equipment, generators and components in North America and Europe.

For the second half of the fiscal year, Yanmar expects strong demand. The company’s original June 2022 forecast for net sales and ordinary income has been revised upward to ¥970 billion ($7.05 billion) and ¥50 billion ($360 million), respectively, for the 2022 fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2023. The initial forecast was for net sales of ¥930 ($6.07 billion) and ordinary income of ¥40 billion ($288.3 million).
