Maryland-based anchoring equipment manufacturer Vetus Maxwell was named a certified supplier by Independent Boat Builders for its windlasses and other gear.

“IBBI is an exceptional organization with some of the best boatbuilders in our industry as members,” Vetus Maxwell president Chris DeBoy said in a statement. “We are very excited to offer our products, backed by an organization whose standards are exacting and highly regarded in the marine industry. … We currently have relationships with several IBBI members and this agreement serves to highlight our capabilities and strengthen our reputation.”

The certified status is expected to expand to include Vetus bow thrusters.

IBBI is a purchasing cooperative that negotiates sources and arrangements for marine products.
